Article 17 Reporting Assessments of conservation status at the EU biogeographical level Public consultation

euworkprogramme2017

The European Topic Centre on Biological Diversity (ETC/BD) has completed the assessments of conservation status per biogeographical region of species and habitats listed on the Annexes of the Birds and Habitats Directives. These assessments were made based on the reporting obligation by the EU Member States according to the Article 17 of the Habitats Directive for the period 2013-2018. The results from this reporting and these assessments will form an important component of the evaluation of the implementation of the European Commission’s 2020 Biodiversity Strategy but will also be widely used to inform policy.

A Public consultation on the EU biogeographical assessments of conservation status and trends in the frame of the Art.17 (Habitats Directive) reporting exercise 2013-2018 is now open and you are invited to contribute by 8 March 2020.

The data reported from Member States and the relevant EU assessments can be consulted here. Further information on registration and guidance for consultation is provided in this document.
