Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE launches first call for proposals

The Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme supports regional cooperation among central European countries: Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, as well as parts of Germany and Italy. The overall objective of the programme is “make central European cities and regions better places to live and work” by implementing cross-border solutions to regional challenges. This includes environmental challenges such as flooding, water and soil contamination, climate change adaptation, biodiversity and ecosystem protection, and the revitalisation of natural landscapes. The total programme budget for projects will be around 231 million Euros from the European Regional Development Fund.
The first call for proposals has now been launched and up to 80 million Euros of co-financing is now available for public and private organisations that want to cooperate on innovation, low-carbon strategies, natural and cultural resources, or transport. The application process is a two-step process and the deadline for applying to the first step is 13 April 2015. For those not ready to submit by that deadline, there will be a second call for proposals in the first half of 2016.
For more information and details of how to apply, see the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE website.
