Natura 2000 beer at the EU Green Week

eNewsletter 2016-06 Gageleer beer

The EU Green Week took place from 30 May to 3 June 2016. During this Week, Eurosite member Natuurpunt together with Natagora and BirdLife Europe offered the Green Week participants a free Gageleer beer. With this, the three nature conservation organisations wanted to raise attention for the preservation and implementation of the two most important European nature laws: the Birds- and Habitat Directives.

The Gageleer beer is a pure-malt ale from the Belgian Campine (Kempen) region which is part of the EU Natura 2000 network of natural areas. The Natura 2000 network has been established thanks to both Nature Directives.

Do you have another good example of a Natura 2000 product, please contact us. We are gathering examples to showcase on our upcoming Natura 2000 products website.

If you could not attend the Green Week or would like to refresh your memory, the daily reports are available on the EU Green Week website.
