Reconciling economic development with environmental preservation – one of Janez Potočnik’s biggest achievements
In an exclusive interview with viEUws, Janez Potočnik looks back at his biggest achievements as European Commissioner for the Environment – which include reconciling economic development with environmental preservation – and discusses the challenges facing his successor Karmenu Vella.
Moreover, Potočnik talks about the expanded portfolio of his designated successor. If the European Parliament gives its green light, Vella will take over Potočnik’s responsibilities as well as those of Maria Damanaki and become Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
The 6 minutes interview can be viewed on the viEUws website.
