Eurosite member Crossbill Guides plays an important role in facilitating the implementation of Ecosim. Ecosim is a 3D simulation program that creates a virtual landscape in which a variety of ecological processes are simulated. The user takes on the role of a terrain manager whose objective is to preserve specific target species. The software is primarily intended for educational purposes.

The Ecosim project has been selected to be a Dutch delegate for Best Practise in Biology Teaching at the Science on Stage festival taking place in London on 17-20 June 2015. The four-day event aims to showcase innovation in STEM education across Europe in order to inspire the next generation.
