Eurosite was founded in 1989 as the result of a successful two-year pilot project that linked (or rather ‘twinned’) 23 nature conservation organisations in the UK, France and the Netherlands. Born of this need to network on practical and technical site management issues, our members wanted to continue being connected in order to compare their practices, exchange experiences and share information, and learn about effective ways to manage their sites. There are currently 60 members in the network from 21 countries. All of our work is developed for and informed by nature conservation specialists and site management practitioners. Our focus is on practical nature conservation, how to do it and what it involves.
