  • New island archipelago in the Netherlands – Reception

    Marker Wadden

    Brussels, Belgium, 26 January 2016

In the densely populated Amsterdam metropolitan area new islands will appear. In one of the largest freshwater lakes in western Europe these ‘Marker Wadden’ will form a unique ecosystem that will boost biodiversity. With great public support Marker Wadden restores the poor conservation state of this Natura 2000 site while enhancing the economic value for the metropolis.

Hear more about one of the most ambitious nature restoration approaches in western Europe, which can also be applied in other countries.

The reception is hosted by the Dutch Province of Flevoland.

    Date: 26 January 2016

Time: 17.00 – 18.00 brief presentations followed by a reception.

Location: House of the Dutch Provinces, Auditorium, 4th floor, Rue Treves 59-61, 1040, Brussels
