World Wetlands Day
Event date: 02 February 2019
Including a smart use of wetlands is an indispensable matter in strategies addressing climate change. According to RAMSAR, 35% of wetlands have already been lost since 1970: “Individuals, communities and governments must work together to protect these ecosystems, which help prepare for, cope with and bounce back from the impacts of climate change.” Therefore, this year World Wetlands Day will again be globally celebrated on 2 February, marking the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands.
