Dimitris Poursanidis

Dimitris Poursanidis obtained his doctorate on Marine Ecology from the Marine Science department of the University of the Aegean Greece, in 2016, his master on Integrated Coastal Zone Management in 2008 from the same university and his diploma in environmental management in 2004 from the Higher Technological Institute of Crete. He is currently the director of terraSolutions m.e.r., a consulting company focused on research and applications at the coastal marine environment, as well as a collaborative postdoctoral researcher at the Foundation of Research and Technology (FORTH) where he coordinates projects concerning the natural environment at the Remote Sensing lab. He is interested in the study of coastal environments using the state-of-the-art tools and methods (UAV, Earth Observation, GIS, Spatial Ecology and Scientific Diving), the use of multimedia tools including popularized articles for bringing science to the local societies. He has worked for both the academic (Imperial College London, University of Athens, University of Crete, University of the Aegean, Natural History Museum of Crete, UNEP, IUCN, RAC/SPA, ITC) and private sector (WWF DE, WWF GR, LDK, NatureBureau UK, NCC, etc) on research and application projects
