Management tools for Marine Protected Area managers
The MedPAN network of managers of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean is developing management tools to assist these managers. Although a lot of potential, videos are still relatively little used and so they tried the experiment with a series of video tutorials that aim to facilitate the implementation of methodologies described in the guides.
Two videos are already available, and two more will follow by the end of the year. The “Snorkel surveys of the marine environment” and “Visual counting of fish” videos offer a collection of simple methodologies and are available in French with English subtitles, Turkish, and hopefully soon also in Italian and Spanish!
