Survey for Improving Lake Manager and Scientist Dialogue

The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) in Portugal is conducting research on the management of lakes. For this research they aim to get an understanding of global lake manager’s perspectives on the role of science in management and their experiences collaborating with scientists.

The survey set up by the Netherlands Institute of Ecology in collaboration with the Global Lakes Ecological Observatory Network is part of a study on mutidisciplinary collaboration for lake health and functioning. They survey will help get an understanding of

  • challenges affecting lake management
  • science’s role in management
  • effective communication methods
  • examples of successful collaborations
  • planning for climate change and extreme climatic events

All lake/reservoir managers are invited to share their experiences and suggestions for collaboration in a 25-question survey, taking around 20 minutes. The survey can be accessed here.
